The default for the creation of a Faculty Projection uses automated discovery of Projection chartstrings and personnel to initialize the Projection Settings and to update the Settings as University data evolves.

Projection Settings can also be managed manually to make corrections or to include data not automatically discovered, and/or exclude unwanted data.

Chartstrings and partial chartstrings (chartstring “masks”) can be tracked to identify all financial data that is related to the portion of the chartstring provided.  For example, a project can be provided without the rest of the chartstring to capture all financial data associated with that project, regardless of the other chartstring values.
